Valentine’s Day Flashback to 2003…Still True in 2018

Where Is the Love?

The popular recording artists, The Black Eyed Peas, produced a hit song, “Where Is the Love” in 2003.  After stumbling on the song on Spotify the other day, I carefully contemplated the lyrics and listened several times.  It is a cool song with a great beat, and is currently the number one played hit by The Black Eyed Peas on Spotify.  The biggest thing that caught my attention is how relevant the lyrics are…now.  From 2003 to 2018 the group was very futuristic in the writing of the lyrics.

As our hearts open for the Valentine season, I thought it would be great to give the spirit of the song a shout out.  Not only are the lyrics about love, they are also about humanity, seeing each one of us as just that, humans.  WOW, it would be so peaceful in our world if we stripped away all of our defenses, titles, clusters, categories, labels, and confusions and just concentrated on where to find love…in each other.  I am impressed and humbled by the fact that love is the greatest and highest good we can give and or receive.

It’s so simple, but it seems hugely complicated, right?  What if we just focused on loving each other and started a huge cloud of warm, brilliant, vital energy that could infiltrate our homes, cities, states, and country?!  So hard to do, but why?  Why does it take more effort to be kind and generous, instead of selfish and greedy? Blah, blah, blah…those negative last words make my fingers hurt on my keypad just typing them.

CHOICE!  I say, choice.  I choose LOVE this Valentine’s Day and every day.  Although it might be a little bit more complicated to choose positive, beautiful actions and ideals, those very things are why I am blessed to breathe and write this blog.

It feels SO GOOD to find the love in situations, and if you look hard enough you’ll always find it…it’s the silver lining…the wink from the Universe.  So, “Where Is the Love?”  It’s always here, one heart beat at a time, in each and every person alive on this planet.  You can experience it in the beauty of nature, animals, skies, mountains, oceans, desserts, vastness of land, space, time, and so much more.  I choose love for everyone and this is my Valentine gift for 2018.

Love always remains and never ends.

More later!
